2021.12.02 01:36 swagmasteer HIMS Medical

I was planning on starting my PPL in Feb and moving up to commercial from there. At the first look, I thought that the medical would be a slam dunk for me, but I was prescribed Lexapro for a few months in 2019 and Adderal for about 4 months in 2018. Should I go straight to a HIMS AME as soon as possible to expedite the process or do I need to go to a normal AME first and be deferred?

2021.12.02 01:36 hurlingpearls Fellow Autistic (or other Neurodivergent) Practitioners: How do you see your neurobiology helping your practice?

I’m autistic and have adhd. I’m new to magick, though it honestly feels like a process of “return” rather than discovery. I’ve had this feeling for quite some time that being neurodiverse means your veil is thinner than neurotypicals. Upon searching this subreddit, there weren’t really many posts about ND magick at all. Like I found two: one about how to meditate when you need to fidget, and the other about how being in an “othered” minority might make you more likely to get into magick.
I know that Faith Blind Council did an episode about neuro divergence but I felt like they only really focused on the struggles we might face in practice. I know those are really important and it’s good to bring attention so that people don’t feel so alone. I just think we should look at the other side of the coin as well. So what are some ways you feel your autistic/ND brain helps you with magick? For example, I can get REALLY hyperfocused on my interests and spirituality is a special interest of mine. I feel like I really like numerology/bibliomancy because I have a specific kind of synesthesia related to letters and numbers. I feel like my brain makes a lot of associations really fast so divination in general is really intuitive. I also want to incorporate some of my special interests into spells/rituals like The Magicians show/book, painting, singing etc.
I do feel like meditation is weird for me but I’m still trying to figure that one out!
I also just wanted to create a thread for us to find each other 🧡

2021.12.02 01:36 BlazinApostle Is Ray Dalio (Bridewater Associates) Right In His Assessment of the Future?

In an article out today in Business Insider Ray Dalio was asked to comment on his new book "Principals For Dealing With The New World Order". Dalio stated that the US is at a crossroads. Down one road lies renewed civility, co-operation and peace and down the other lies external or civil war. Whatever your opinion of Dalio is he does know a lot about how the financial system works and he was right to call cash "trash". Here is an excerpt from the article:
"The book delves into the histories of the Dutch, British, and American empires over the past 500 years, with a focus on their currencies because they became the world's reserve currencies. He also considers the Chinese, Indian, German, French, Japanese, and Russian empires.
Dalio concludes that all them went through relatively predictable economic, debt, and political cycles, and that the empires themselves tended to decline after about 250 years. He says the combination of rising inequality, massive national debt, and a dysfunctional political system, combined with the rise of China as a rival, all spell trouble for the US.
He told Insider he wanted people to be aware of history's cycles and to understand the danger the country faced.
"We are at a critical juncture," he said. "We will either overcome our differences and work together, or we will have some form of domestic civil war and/or external war."
So fellow silverbacks - how do you rate the probabilities of either outcome? Heaven, hell or somewhere in between? Oh and spoiler alert Dalio doesn't mention gold or silver at all and instead recommends investing in "stable" countries (whoever they maybe). I think that he missed a golden (or silver in this case) history lesson about these failures of empires. Debasement of their imperial reserve currencies was one of the root causes of their failures - caveat emptor.

2021.12.02 01:36 mechanizedmouse Starhawk - Fluff or not? [Review] "Spiral Dance" "Dreaming the Dark" and "Truth or Dare"

So I've been in the craft a bit over a decade now and had for a long time avoided the Starhawk books because I had heard rumors they were "fluffy bunny"I have since learned that such language was a way that powerful male witches of the time disparage young women who were becoming well known in the craft - but that's a post for another time... witchcraft. Boy do I feel silly now. This may be controversial, but after reading 3 of her books this past year (Spiral Dance, Dreaming the Dark, and Truth or Dare) I would have to strongly disagree with the sentiment.
I found "Spiral Dance" to be equal parts interesting theology, useful exercises/visualizations, and deeply moving poetic passages about the Goddess.
"Dreaming the Dark" was powerfully moving and has changed the way I perceive my self in relationship to my craft and to others. This book is great if you want to dip your toes into ethics and philosophy/community applications of witchcraft. Though there are better books on that out there, this is a classic.
"Truth or Dare" was deeply philosophical and discusses the implications of witchcraft values in our larger community as well as activism as witches - something I think a lot of us tend to shy away from because it seems so overwhelming or can bring guilt or shame, but if we do not step into our shadows we cannot bring the light there. This book is great for cultural shadow work.
I can't say all of her writing resonated with me, or that any of it was particularly mind-blowing but I certainly learned a lot about my own craft from reading these books and would encourage others to do the same if you wish to embody your craft more fully in your daily life.
Have you read these books? What are your thoughts?

2021.12.02 01:36 tossdogecoin Need some wisdom on bleeding BABA

I am new in stock and trying to understand it. Recently everyone was talking about BABA stock is highly discounted with such a strong performance when it was trading around $160, it came down to $140 and it was still strong buy. Now it’s 52 weeks low and still some noise that it’s bargain price. Can anyone tell where is it heading to and how newbie’s can enter or get some play from battered BABA? How its future looks like and where will it be in 2022?

2021.12.02 01:36 jackmorgue I could've hurt people when I was in high school

That school shooting has gotten my thinking back to my youth. It was not a happy time. I often dreamed of hurting the people around me; of showing them just how much I hated them. I could've been another one of those mass shooters. Scary to think about. I still have those thoughts sometimes, but I doubt I'll ever act on them. I am not as passionate as I used to be.

2021.12.02 01:36 dolphinne Do any of you have any goals you would like to achieve or anything you'll continue doing?

I know this is a bit early but it's the last month of the year so I wanted to ask. Do you have any new goals you want to achieve for next year? ( It can be anything like reaching a certain length or learning a new hairstyle). And if not, is there anything you'll continue to do for your hair going into 2022? Like a current routine you've been doing. You don't have to list just one thing, you can list several things if you want :)
I don't really have a huge goal and I want to continue my current hair routine. But I do want to do better taking my hair down so there's less breakage (I know it's impossible to completely stop since it's inevitable). I also want to continue growing out my hair since longer hair fits me more (I don't really have a specific length I want to reach).

2021.12.02 01:36 intervulvar Vivaldi is a very slow browser

Some weird sluggish things happen with its interface when opening tabs, new windows. Also a speedometer 2.0 score for me was just 109.
Version used 4.3.2439.65 (Stable channel) (64-Bit) in Windows 10
I wouldn't have visited that speedometer page if not for the doubts. It's the interface firstmost that I perceive as damn slow. The Vivaldi devs must have not tried chrome and firefox on their development machines at all to see where they stand. I did and know not where vivaldi stands on mine.
